About the farm
A small family, a small piece of land, a slow six-year climb.
Hacienda Don Pedro is a family-owned homestead at 307 Meeker Rd in Wallkill, New York — built on the side, off full-time jobs, with kids growing up in the middle of it. We started with nothing. We learned slow. This is what that looks like.
David Serrano
Co-owner, co-operator · Bilingual (EN/ES)
Navy veteran (2005–2011). Ten-plus years in cannabis operations. Puerto Rican. Studied CBG under Dr. Ethan Russo — now researching its serotonin-system effects on anxiety and depression. The farm is the laboratory. Carries his grandfather Don Pedro's values into every decision on the land.
Mia Serrano
Co-owner, co-operator · Farmer. Maintenance tech. Momma.
Works the land and the machines as much as anyone here. If the tractor needs fixing, the flock needs moving, or the kids need lunch — she's already on it. Not a support role. An equal operator.
Don Pedro
In memoriam (1936–2020)
David's grandfather. Born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico. Grew up on the sugar plantations of the north coast, where the cane and the land taught him his first lessons. Built a career in corporate tobacco — sales and marketing — then raised a family on the equation he'd learned as a boy: land, work, and family are the same thing in the end.
